Thank you to everyone who made Art Saves Lives International‘s collaboration with the staff and children of Bursledon House hospital in Southampton such a great success. Especial thanks goes to The Art House cafe/ gallery in Soutthampton, who allowed us to exhibit the children’s and ASLI artists’ work in their stylish venue. Gigantic thanks (of course) to the incredible ‘s staff and children at Bursledon House for their enormous faith, courage, and support of this project. ASLI’s inspirational Artistic Director Charlotte Farhan and Artist in Residence Lisa Reeve have worked tirelessly to organize and manage this project, so deserve especial gratitude. Huge thanks to the brilliant Hometown Show, who performed at the exhibition opening and all our wonderful artists and art lovers who came along to the exhibition to support us.
Of course, we really couldn’t do the work we do without the help of our wonderful artists who have supported us by donating a piece of their artwork to our art auction. We are awed by your talent and humbled by your generosity. We hope very much to work with you again and to assisting you with your own exhibitions in the very near future. The money we raised was for the extraordinarily courageous and creative young residents of Bursledon House, so that they may engage in further arts projects like this and receive the benefits of art therapy in their ongoing recovery. We offer heartfelt thanks to all you who contributed time, funding, energy and artwork on their behalf.
Finally, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have liked and supported our work on social media platforms. We are especially humbled by those of you who have taken the time to send us messages of support for this project and all upcoming ASLI projects. For those of you who were unable to attend the exhibition last night, our artwork will be on display until the end of July. So if you find yourself in Southhampton this summer, do try and pay a visit to The Art House to see the exhibition for yourselves.
